WLUSP welcomes Lakyn Barton, new Executive Director

Following the planned departure of Bryn Ossington, WLUSP’s Executive Director for five years, we’re pleased to welcome Lakyn Barton to our office.

Most recently, Lakyn served Laurier Students’ Public Interest Research Group as the Communications and Community Director, while also volunteering as Production Manager at the Community Edition. She boasts a long history at Laurier from the Diversity and Equity Office to the Centre for Women and Trans* People, to WLUSP’s own Blueprint Magazine, where she acted as Editor-in-Chief.

Lakyn’s academic background hosts a BA in Women & Gender Studies and Cultural Studies from Laurier as well as an MA in Cultural Studies & Critical Theory from McMaster University.

We look forward to what Lakyn’s wide experience in in media, publishing, student services and advocacy will bring to the WLUSP and WLU communities.
